Mohamed Abdulatif Elmuntasser
Name: Mohamed Abdulatif Mohamed Mustafa Elmuntasser Elkafi Elmusrati.
Born in 1957 in the city of Misrata, Libya. He is the eldest son in his family. The Elmuntasser family still resides in Misurata.
University Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, an English Literature major, graduated in
1988, notably from the first batch of graduates from The University of Misurata.

Professional Experience
He worked in the private sector as a leader, expert, and executive within several companies.
specializing in the field of oil and industrial production since 1981, in which he was able to attain
a number of achievements as he was appointed to the following positions:
• Administrative and Financial Affairs Director at Kobe Steel Japanese Company (1981-1983)
• Deputy General Manager of Smelt International Company (1982-1988)
• Administrative and Financial Affairs Director at Mitsubishi Japanese Company (1983-1985)
• General Manager of Al Hutaiba Oil Services Company (1988-1992)
• Chairman of the Board of Directors at Saharah Oil Services Company (1992)
• Member of the Board of Directors at the Libyan Italian Chamber of Commerce (2000-2006)
• Chairman of the Board of Directors at Misrata Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2005-2006)
• Head of the Libyan side, Board of Directors of the Libyan-German Chamber of Commerce
(2006-2008)
• General Manager of Talmeetha Oil Services Company (2006)
• Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Libyan German Schenker Company (2008-2010).
• Permanent guest in International or local trade and economic forums:
(Italy/Germany/Tunisia/Morocco/Spain).
Political Career :
At the beginning of his political career in 2011, he was the first member to join the National
Transitional Council from the west and south of Libya. Throughout his political career, he was
appointed to several positions, which were as follows:
• Member of the National Transitional Council for the city of Misrata (2011-2012)
• Chairman of the Central Committee for the Wounded and Displaced in the National Assembly
(2011-2012)
• Member of the Constitutional Declaration Preparation Committee (2012)
• Participant in the meetings to resolve the political crisis in Libya (unifying the political
institution) in Switzerland 2020.
Amongst his political activities:
1- His participation in the Libyan Dialogue Committee:
• Participant in the Libyan Dialogue Committee, Geneva meeting 2020.
• He ran for the presidency of the Government of National Unity in Geneva, February 2021.
2- Establishment of a political party:
Mohamed Abdulatif Elmuntasser established a political party under the name (Mawtini Party) in
October, 2021. The party includes academics, lawyers, media professionals, businessmen and
workers in the political, civil and service affairs.
3- Participation in the presidential elections On December 24th 2021:
On November 21st 2021, Mohamed Abdulatif Elmuntasser submitted his candidacy for the first
democratic presidential election in the history of Libya
